Nikon DL-1は1975年頃に発売された。
これはNikon F2 Photomic用に購入したがNikon F Photomic FTNでも使用できるようだ。
Nikon F2 Photomiの露出計のメーターは明り取りの窓からの明かりで照明され見ることができる。周囲が暗い状態で露出計のメータを見えるよう照明するためのものである。
スイッチは側面のボタンを押すとONになり、上部のボタンを押し込むとOFFになる。

ストロボ光だけでなく定常光も測定でき、積算でも測定できる。またシンクロコードを使って測定や、シンクロコード無しでも測定できる。通常は入射光だが、アタッチメントを付けると反射光の測定もできる。
